About us
We are a non-profit animal welfare association, focused on cats. Rescat was established on May 19, 2022, in response to the widespread abandonment and neglect of stray cats.

We have successfully found homes for more than 300 cats of all ages, with a particular focus on adult cats.
Our approaches
We have several foci, one of which is the rescue of special cats. This includes cases that require immediate veterinary help and subsequent adoption. Another approach we take is to address animal overpopulation in the cantons through neutering and feeding. We do not always have space for everyone in the shelter, and much depends on successful adoptions.

Founders
We are three girls: Liliana Luna, Doris Rodriguez, Melissa Ferreto.

We met while doing independent rescues and helping other shelters. We came to the conclusion that we needed a place to house more adult cats and those with special needs, not just pregnant cats or baby kittens. In addition to the three of us, there is also a group of seven people, plus relatives and friends, who form our support network.
